From October 15 to 20, 2025, the capital of Tajikistan will once again become a hub for filmmakers and cinema enthusiasts from around the world — hosting the II Dushanbe International Film Festival “Toji Somon” under the personal patronage of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.

Timed to coincide with Tajik Cinema Day, celebrated annually on October 16, the 2025 festival will be held under the motto
“The History of the Development of the Tajik People” and promises to be a unique platform for showcasing the best domestic and international films, facilitating professional exchange, and fostering cultural dialogue.

The festival is organized by the State Institution “Tojikfilm”, with the support of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, and invites directors, producers, and filmmakers from Europe, Asia, and the CIS countries to participate in its competitive programs.

Starting June 2025, the official application process is open via the website: tojisomon.tj. Submissions will be accepted until September 15, 2025. The website offers the full festival regulations, including eligibility requirements, participation rules, competition categories, and the schedule of events — a convenient tool for all participants and guests.

The festival features two main competition categories:

Feature Films
Short Films

All submitted films will be judged by an international jury composed of renowned film industry professionals from various countries. Their expertise and impartiality will ensure a high standard of competition and fair evaluation.
A special honor of the festival will be the Prize of the Chairman of the City of Dushanbe, Rustami Emomali, awarded for outstanding contributions to cinema — recognizing significant achievements and the impact of cinematic artists.

The festival program is rich and diverse:

Days of Cinema of Foreign Countries and the CIS;

A Film Forum featuring directors, producers, and experts from around the world, addressing contemporary challenges, trends, and opportunities in international film collaboration;

Meetings of the Board of Directors of film studios;

Presentations of new film projects and premieres;

Workshops and master classes with leading directors and actors;

Press conferences and professional discussions aimed at industry development;

A gala awards ceremony honoring the winners of the festival.
