Dear Colleagues,
The Organizing Committee of the 2nd Toji Somon International Film Festival, which will take place from October 15 to 20, 2025 in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, is pleased to announce an open call for project submissions for the Film Project Pitching Section.
We invite submissions of fiction, documentary, and animation film projects currently in development or pre-production from directors and producers based in the following countries: Tajikistan, Russia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Moldova, China, Turkey, India, Iran, and Pakistan.
Special attention will be given to projects that demonstrate the potential for international collaboration with Tajikistan.
Eligibility Criteria:
Categories: feature-length and short films (fiction, documentary, animation);
Project stage: from treatment to pre-production;
Priority will be given to projects with partial or full localization in Tajikistan;
Working languages: Tajik, Russian, and English (simultaneous interpretation will be available if needed).
To apply, please submit the following:
1. Completed application form;
2. Logline and synopsis (max. 1 page);
3. Treatment (max. 5 pages);
4. Director’s statement (max. 2 pages);
5. Short bios of key team members;
6. Budget and production plan;
7. Visual materials (moodboard — optional).
Application deadline: August 30, 2025. The list of selected projects for the pitching session will be announced no later than September 15, 2025.
Selected projects will be invited to participate in a public pitching session, which will take place during the 2nd Toji Somon International Film Festival in Dushanbe.
